Originally from Northeast Ohio, Deborah spent much of her youth living in Northern Arizona on the Navajo and Hopi Reservations with her mother who was a teacher. She saw firsthand the devastation that addiction brings to not only the life of an addict, but to the lives of the addict’s family members, friends, and community.
She returned to NEO to raise her children and obtained her bachelor’s degree in Educational Studies from Lake Erie College. She has been actively involved in several community efforts including Komen Race for the Cure, the Hunger Network and Inner City Tennis Clinics (ICTC) where she was a board member and volunteered as a grant writer, program and curriculum developer, and assisted in fundraising efforts.
Deborah has 27 years of Corporate Learning and Development expertise. She is currently employed at STERIS. Her passion is People! Recognizing that regardless of ethnicity, economic status, level of education, religious beliefs, or addictions, ALL people have basic needs to feel valuable and to have purpose. She will contribute to Project Habit by networking to create a ‘post-rehabilitation living’ program with continued education, mentorships, and counseling for life-long holistic recovery…healthy mind, body, and soul.
